Frequently Asked Questions

ATHLETES AND PARENTS

How is Finding Athletes different from other recruiting websites?

Finding Athletes sets itself apart in three key areas:

First, Finding Athletes provides KNOWLEDGE to the student athlete. Our website offers a comprehensive step-by-step Athlete Resource Guide of the major rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Topics included in the Resource Guide:

  • College Choices
  • Academic-Eligibility Requirements
  • Amateurism Eligibility Requirements
  • Important Recruiting Information
  • Four-Year Guide
  • Helpful Websites
  • Second, Finding Athletes is FOCUSED. We spotlight on all 30 scholarship sports. The website introduces you to college coaches and recruiters in every scholarship sport offered by the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA.

Third, Finding Athletes is completely free to all qualified coaches and recruiters. Many other recruiting networks charge colleges, coaches and/or recruiters to access athlete profiles sometimes in excess of $20,000 per year. Others provide students "free" registration only to push advertising and/or sell the student's personal information. What this "free" registration gives the athlete and his parents is usually only junk filled inboxes. The coaches and recruiters end up seeing databases that are filled with bogus and invalid profiles rendering the entire database useless. We firmly believe that an athlete's chances of obtaining a scholarship are dramatically increased by maximum exposure. The key to achieving this is by ensuring the accessibility of a large number of recruiters to an athlete's accurate profile.

As a parent, it was hard to know how NCAA rules apply, and how I could best help get my daughter's name out there to coaches. Finding Athletes is a godsend. I also like the fact that the site is secure and that only legitimate registered college recruiters have access to personal information. — Anna from Texas Mother of St. Mary's University Golfer
